From the Beer Camp 12 pack.

Appearance 3.75: Poured out a coppery gold. Decent head (1/4") with OK lacing. Lots of bubbles floating up. Hope this isn't overly CO2ed.

Smell 4.0: Nice bouquet. Deep, earthy malts along with a very piquant smell of high-alpha hops. Great blending of scents.

Taste 4.25: Front is slightly sweet and somewhat tart. Middle is where a lovely hop-blend rushes in with tastes of tropical fruit, tangerines and candied orange rind. Big, sweet maltiness balances out the middle. Finish is smooth and balanced with more of that fantastic hop blend and even more malt with a delicious tanginess. Aftertaste is very smooth and is like a 747 lightly touching down on a tropical tarmac. Ahh.

Mouthfeel 4.0: Creamy and very refreshing. Balances out the big flavors present in the beer.

Overall 4.25: Excellent beer. Great blending and balancing of over the top hops and malt. BIG (8.6%) ABV on this baby, so be careful driving your hovercrafts after drinking it. Would highly recommend and hope it somehow gets a life of its own after Beer Camp.

Pours into a becker a deep orange hued medium golden with a great looking full two finger bone white head that settles very slowly, just a great head with a slower pour.Caramel and sweet dough with a little booze mixed with some piney hops in the back end,Iam a little surprised by the extent of the booziness.Flavors of sweet dough and more booze with some cutting spicy and piney hops in the finish.I like it,it's a little sweeter than most for the style but I like it just the same.

This beer was gold in color with a small white head.

Floral aroma mostly. Some citrus. Sweet malt.

Great taste. Grapefruit up front, then floral hops, then some lingering grapefruit. All against a bready background.

This was a nice hoppy, sweet IPL. I could drink this anytime. One of my Beer Camp favorites.

12 oz bottle. Pours clear copper gold with a big creamy white head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is sweet cereal malt with floral, metallic noble hops.

The flavor is very sweet bready malts with floral grassy hops that have good bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and very creamy.

Overall, it's a bit overly sweet and I don't care for the hop character.

A: Golden and crystal clear like a lager that has had proper conditioning

S: Smells good but just not as hoppy as you would expect for an IPA, smells like a slightly hoppier Pale Ale

T: Crisp and clean with a really good amount of hops. It has a sweetness to it that covers any alcohol in this beer

M: Carbonation coats the mouth and allows easy drinking

O: I thought this was very good, I love the crispness of a good lager paired with the IPA qualities.

12 oz fresh bottle pour, into mini pilsner glass, head is light in body with big bubbles, and a khaki froth staying around. color of the beer is between gold and chestnut brown. has decent amount of malt detected with a little roastiness. Not much on the nose, a little fruit such as apple and pine needles to bring in some earthiness. Taste is apple, pine, a little grapefruit, some malted notes such as cocoa and carmel to finish with the hops. Drinks a lot like a Maibock, with slightly more piney and citrusy notes in there. Mouthfeel is crisp and light, good for the Lager yeast style. Dry finish and very nice balance of fruitiness, and mildness of the yeast lends to a good mouthfeel and finish. Overall, should pair nice with some German foods, such as: Brats, Mustard, Veal, and Pretzel.

Serving glass: Poured from bottle into Nonic Pint.

Appearance: Bright orange with strong white cap and light lacing - impressive for a lager.

Smell: Apple, bread and light hay; somewhat of a cross between a Maibock and a Pilsner. Nice grapefruit and spice notes as well.

Taste: Core malt body is Maibock like, with sweet bread and apple. The hops are quite pronounced, with grapefruit, mango, pineapple and pepper. Basically tastes like a cross between a Maibock and an IPA.

Feel: Moderately high carbonation. Medium to full body that is very smooth in a lager type way. Finish is nicely dry.

Overall: I have never been that impressed with Imperial/Double Lagers/Pilsners or India Pale Lagers. This is kind of a cross between those two, but it is a slam dunk. I love this beer and it shows that extreme lagers can work.
