12oz bottle into SN imperial pint glass.

A: Pours a dark burnt amber with a couple fingers of greasy, oily, and dense looking light tan head that slowly collapsed into a thick and greasy film. A complex network of sticky lace was left down the glass.
S: Earthy hops, wood, caramel, and wet dog. I get a hint of perfume as well.
T: Sour grains, earthy and herbal hops, mild spice, and bready malt. The finish is full of bitter leafy hops, and the aftertaste is lightly spicy and grainy.
M: Medium body, bitter but smooth mouthfeel, decent viscosity, average bubbly carbonation.
O: One of my least favorites so far of the 12-pack. As a standalone beer, I not impress either, although it’s not terrible, just not something I need to drink again.

Bottle poured into a stange

A - Pours a deep mahogany color with a slightly off-white head. 1 finger with medium sized bubbles and good retention. Fairly clear with decent carbonation.

S - The nose is a little weak. I get bread and a touch of nuttiness with just a hint of earthy hops in the background.

T - Roasted nuts, bread, non-descript hops on the very end. Kind of boring.

M - Low bitterness on the back end. Lightly carbed, Nuttiness lingers on the tongue. Fairly medium bodied.

My first altbier. Maybe my last. The malt bill leaves me kind of unimpressed and the lack of any other prominent flavor makes for a boring beer. Not my cup of tea.

A. Pours a dark, clear copper with hints of tobacco brown. A good finger of tan head that settles to a thin, but consistent and coating, quarter finger. Very good lacing. Yet another Beer Camp beer that looks great.

S. Toast, very mild nuttiness, mildest suggestion of dark cherry, grains, mild, grassy hops. This has a very clean, light, straightforward nose that is essentially toasted grain, mild fruit, and light floral hops.

T. Follows the nose quite closely. Toasted grains, clean floral hops, some fruitiness, and a kiss of booze.

M. Higher carbed but good balance. Clean mouthfeel. A little boozy and astringent on the back end.

O. A very good Alt. Loses a few points for the noticeable (yet not overwhelming) booze on the finish. Would like it to have just a slightly more rounded mouthfeel. With that said, this is well crafted. Love how they got some marked fruit presence in this one. I dig it!
