12oz can poured into SN hop glass.

A: Pours a burnt amber with a huge, dense, light tan head that slowly faded into a thick and oily looking film. Soapy patches of lace were left down the glass.
S: Rye hits first and is prominent and spicy. I get scents of toasted malt, burnt sugar, caramel and faint citrus.
T: Much fruitier than the nose the suggested. I get the spicy flavors of rye up front, followed by sweet fruity hops, bread crust malt, and grainy wheat. The finish is sweet with fruit nectar, and the aftertaste is bitter with slight notes of citrus, and peppery with the flavorful rye.
M: Medium body, slick, heavy and greasy mouthfeel. The carbonation is fluffy but tingly.
O: The rye and dry hopping provide an interesting take on the style. I enjoyed this one a lot.

Poured into a becker a deep copper color with a sticky full one finger head atop that slowly settled into a frothy mass.some spicy rye and light caramel notes in the nose, faint leafy hops.A nice flavor profile with the spiciness from the rye mixed with almost a whiskey-like note, not overly sweet and a decent amount of leafy hop drying in the finish. This is a solid bock and the rye plays a real role, nice job here.

This beer was poured into a pint glass. It was a dark amber color with a minimal head.

Aroma of spicy rye. Some citrus.

Spicy rye taste. A little grapefruit. Caramel and bread.

Sweet and malty.

Not bad, not great. In the meh category. I wouldn't want to drink this again.

12 oz can. Pours clear light copper amber with a huge creamy off white head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is subdued - bready rye with a little fruit.

The flavor is rye and sweet nutty malts and a little sweet caramel and fruit. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, a solid rye beer, but not much of a bock.

Serving glass: Poured from can into dimpled mug.

Appearance: Bright orange with okay off-white. Looks more like a Maibock.

Smell: Bread, wheat, rye, spice and citrus.

Taste: Lots of bread notes going on here, including more traditional bread notes, wheat and rye. Some general fruitiness as well. All of these malt notes are balanced but softer than expected for a Bock. Finish has a sharp kick from the spicy rye and some tangy citrus notes that are different from normal citrus hop notes.

Feel: Moderate carbonation, medium body, dry finish.

Overall: This is a unique and tasty lager that pulls in some elements from wide ranging styles. But this really isn't a Bock.

Can poured into a tulip

A – Pours a clear amber with an off-white 2 finger head that dissipates but leaves nice lacing on the edge. 4

S – Some sweet and spicy malt, white pepper, very muted. 2

T – Sweet malt leads the way. There is some spice to it. Maybe some white pepper, brown sugar or molasses, no hop presence at all. 3

M – A little thin and watery. Low carbonation with a clean finish. 3

O – This is an easy drinker but it’s just very bland and boring. The nose was next to non-existent and the mouthfeel was very thin. My least favorite from the Beer Camp Across America. 2.5

Popped open my beer camp box today prior to working in the yard... this is my first from the box. I hope to have it on draft at the Mills River beer camp fest next Sunday.

Pours a brilliant copper with a thick frothy head that disappears halfway through consumption, but it's easily revived with a swirl of the glass. Very nice combination of flavors going on here. The nose is amazing, loads of caramel. The malt presence is mild, but there. The hops are similarly present, but not overwhelming. Very well balanced beer.
