12oz can poured into SN hop glass.

A: Pours a burnt amber with a huge, dense, light tan head that slowly faded into a thick and oily looking film. Soapy patches of lace were left down the glass.
S: Rye hits first and is prominent and spicy. I get scents of toasted malt, burnt sugar, caramel and faint citrus.
T: Much fruitier than the nose the suggested. I get the spicy flavors of rye up front, followed by sweet fruity hops, bread crust malt, and grainy wheat. The finish is sweet with fruit nectar, and the aftertaste is bitter with slight notes of citrus, and peppery with the flavorful rye.
M: Medium body, slick, heavy and greasy mouthfeel. The carbonation is fluffy but tingly.
O: The rye and dry hopping provide an interesting take on the style. I enjoyed this one a lot.

12oz can, dated 6/3/2014, poured into a Perennial willi becher glass 8/1/2014.

A- Medium dark copper body, two finger offwhite head with great retention, sticky islands of lacing.

S- Sweet dark malt, sharp rye spiciness, a bit of black pepper, some floral and pine notes. Very different from any other bock I've had.

F- Toffee, tapioca, rye spices, floral and piney bitterness on the backend. Not particularly interesting or complex, but drinkable nevertheless. It works on some level, not a particularly high one.

M- Medium-thinner in body, well-carbonated, fairly bitter on the finish with the floral and pine.

O- Not my thing, I guess the name "Canfusion" is a suitable name to describe how this beer came across my palate.

Pours amber/honey with thick foamy head. Head retention and lacing are excellent. Aroma of sweet, darker malts. Fruity apple aroma. Slight bock aroma, but more hoppy. Malty taste up front, followed by a moderate hop bitterness with bitter apple aftertaste at the end. You can appreciate the rye on the back end. Not really what I expect from a bock. Pleasantly surprised.

Clear amber pour with a frothy off-white one-finger head. Aroma has a strong floral and fruit smell. Flavor is somewhat peppery upfront balanced by citrusy hops. Has a very nice malt presence as the beer warms with raisin, plum, bread and caramel flavors. Finish is slightly sweet.

Pours out an orange-y amber with hardly any head. Interesting smell. Caramel malts, booze, and a good bit of rye spiciness. Flavor leans more toward malted barley caramel-like flavors more typical of a bock. Rye is more apparent on the back end, lending it a spiciness and dryness. Carbonation is smooth, and the body is moderate to full. Interesting take on a bock. The rye works here.

A-Pours a clear, burnt orange color with a thick, bubbly head. Head is a hue of light beige. Big head is stingy with lace and only leaves random arches and semicircles.

S-Almost smells oxidized. Not picking up all too much of the rye here. It honestly smells like old, degraded hops and caramel.

T-Flavor is better. The hops don't taste old or decayed. They are far more lively and citrusy. Rye flavor is spicy and more noticeable. I always get an apple flavor from Bocks. Sweet caramel and toasty malt.

M-Medium bodied. Slight bitterness. Soft carbonation.

O-Not exactly to my tune. It's actually a bit boring. Surprising coming from the two brewers.

Serving Type - Can

Appearance - Bronze copper, brown with a 1 inch, foamy head. Lots of thick, sticky lacing.

Smell - Classic malty bock aroma. Rye smell, some nice bold fruits like plum, and raisin. Bready malt backbone and a minimal yeasty aroma at the finish.

Taste - Starts off with a mix of dark fruits and caramel, bready malts. Rye is noticed along with some peppery spices. Herbal flavor is picked up, and has a syrup like feel to it with each sip. Some citric fruits come out more after this warms up.

Mouthfeel - Fruits, rye and malts all coat the tongue. Palate gets remaining flavors, along with some peppery spices. Aftertaste is rye, malty and sweet.

Overall - Pretty nice beer. Hard to compare it to anything else since this is the first of the style ive had. I feel theres something missing that could make this world class. It tastes like a few good things from a few styles mixed into one beer. Maybe a little more bitter hops to tame down a little bit of sweetness? Still glad I got to try.

12oz. can served in a shaker pint. Pours a dull copper with a voluminous, 1.5 inch, sizzling, cream-colored head. Nose is somewhat unassuming - a trace of fruity and notes of rye. Taste consistent with nose with addition of some citrus and an earthy/herbal bitterness at the finish. Mouthfeel is light-medium with a slight oiliness and a prickly carbonation that leaves a residual burn at the back of the throat. Not bad, but the flavors and aromas are a bit too unpronounced while the carbonation is a bit too assertive.
