Yay cans, and interesting that they mixed cans into the 12-pack.

Pours a decent fizzy and slight creamy 1 finger head that fades semi slowly, clear rosy amber colored beer, nice fluffy lacing as the head eventually fades.

Nose is kinda muted, fruity mostly, a fruity rye, fruity hop, generic tropical fruit notes like the V8 Splash tropical Fruit flavor, little sweet bready biscuity malt, with touches of caramel and toffee sweetness.

Taste brings malts at first, biscuity sweet candy like and some caramel notes, a mild creamy wheat base, bready toasty wheat note as well, etc. Then mild hops, not what I expected though, bit grassy, fruity, again that generic fruity juice fruit like a V8 fruit juice flavor thing. Mild fruity rye, a hint of a spicy peppery note but not a ton, mild spicy earthy like hop note. Finish is sticky semi sweet, more mild toffee and biscuit, sweet syrupy notes, bit of fruity hops, spicy fruity rye as well, lingering, the combination of them all is a bit bleh.

Mouth is med bod, fluffy carb.

Overall OK but the combination of all the various flavors on the finish really come together for a bleh flavor, almost BBQ sauce like but not quite tehre, the sweet syrupy notes with biscuit toffee, fruity flavors from rye and hops, mild bitterness, and earthy hop notes bring this together for the bleh. Otherwise not a bad beer, but the bock aspect gets overpowered, and the rye is not that great either.

This is honestly a solid beer, everything about it is fruity. The hops and the malt are great together and reminds me of a cigar city IPA. Not sure why this isn't rated higher

12oz can fresh pour. thick amber with some orange and red hints. head is not gone in 30 seconds. smells of pecan, spice, candied sugar, rye, and grain. Taste is quite sweet, plum wine flavor, with hints of spice and hops. This beer has floral hop tones, and a fairly boozy bock style. fruit character here with the hop profile. The rye is barely on the nose and palate, and rounds out the booze and light body. Mouthfeel is light, with a touch of spice and hops, on the back of the mouth. Pair with pretzels, smoked trout, smoked sausages, and horseradish.

12 oz can with May 3 2014 canning date.
Superb looking beer has a durable bone-colored, creamy head that leaves the glass well coated. Lovely orange-amber body with excellet clarity. Flavor is a rather hoppy rye bock, perhaps as much like an APA as a bock. Excellent smooth feel with lively carbonation.

Poured from a 12oz can into my Duvel snifter.

A: Pours a deep burnt orange with a thin head. No lacing to speak of. Clean.

S: Citrus, pine, and biscuit on the nose.

T: The taste follows suit. Citrus and pine. The malt is more subdued on the tongue but there's still a nice bite from the rye.

M: Really really drinkable. A little lighter than medium. Carbonation is spot on.

O: This beer is insanely drinkable and keeps me wanting more. I do not drink many lagers but I'm glad to be expanding my horizons.

On a final note, I'm thrilled with this sampler pack and am so glad that I picked it up. I'm looking forward to many more collaborations from these brewers in the future.
