The beer pours a bubbly slightly tannish head that dissipates very quickly. The beer itself is a clear and brown copper. The beer smell has strong sweet and caramel notes with a bit of the sweet potato. The sweet potato is fairly distinct from the other notes. The hops are barely noticeable but give off a floral aroma. The taste has the same notes but at different strengths. The hops are slightly stronger and the sweet potato is more noticeable and stands apart from the rest of the beer. The malt and caramel notes are not as strong as they were in the smell and are covered by the sweet potato. The change is not bad but could have been better incorporated even though it still works. The mouthfeel is a bit heavy bodied and thick but light enough to be smooth with the biting carbonation. Overall, a decent beer and okay.

Pours a tan fizzy almost fluffy head that hits almost a finger then fades semi slowly, nice lines of lacing, semi clear slight sediment chestnut brown with ruby red hue. 4

Nose nice scottish ale, lots of sweet malts, candy, little syrupy aroma, caramel, caramel candies and toffee, butterscotch even, a light but distinct like sweet potato skin aroma in there, more like candied sweet potato fries, brown sugar and molasses too. 3.75

Taste comes on sweet, syrupy, thick, rich, candy, etc. Big sweet malts, way too sweet, as expected kinda, the same way most Americans treat sweet potato fries with tons of sugar and cinnamon, etc, just leave them alone, let them shine by themselves!!! Sorry, anyways, lots of brown sugar and molasses, toffee, little caramel and butterscotch again, with a decent booze kick, more than I expected for only 7%. A little phenolic booze warmth, with mild syrupy notes, and some mild bitter slight earthy grassy like hops. Very little sweet potato skin notes, a bit of a fried sweet potato skin dusted in cinnamon and brown sugar, but very very little sweet potato. Finish is sticky sweet, bit more booze warmth, little weird bitterness that just doesn't play off the sweetness well, candy sweetness, etc. 3.25

Mouth is med to a bit fuller bod, syrupy sweet candy like, decent carb, some tingly booze. 3.5

Overall, not a very good blend of flavors, and very little actual sweet potato, way too sweet and candy like, the weird bitterness doesn't go well with the sweet candy, not very enjoyable. Another poorly done Beer Camp beer. 3.25

It is dark amber in color w/ an off-white head. An aroma of sweet, roasty maltiness mixes well w/ the campfire. Flavor comes off slightly nutty & sweet. It also has a breadiness in the mouthfeel that finishes like caramel. Not super in your face like other Scottish/Irish Ales.

Appearance: Pours a clear copper color; the thick ecru head forms after a nice bubble show and leaves quite a few streaks

Smell: Toasted malt, caramel and sweet potatoes

Taste: Toasted malt and caramel, up front, with the sweet potato elements developing in the middle; surprising earthy bitterness arrives at the back of the tongue in the finish

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: I really enjoyed this beer but perhaps it is because I also really enjoy sweet potatoes; one of the more creative and interesting beers in the box
