I like this Hoppy Lager. It pours a pale golden with white head that is leaving a nice lace. The scent carries floral hop. The taste is well balanced between malt and hops which bring spice and citrus. The mouthfeel is fuller in body with smooth carbonation. Overall.....extremely solid.

Bottled 1/5/15; drank 2/27/15 @ the Yarchives.
Semi-opaque light orange appearance.
Big off-white head; frothy lace.
Fresh soap & faint honey in the nose.
Medium thin mouthfeel.
Mild honey & pine flavors up front; a crisp, clean finish. A nice session brew.

Sometimes you see someone else reviewing an older beer you've had dozens of times and you're like, "oh shit, whaddup, I need to do a review of that one still. Here we are. Pours a light golden yellow color with proper professional clarity that Sierra Nevada brings consistently. Aroma is citrusy hops and lager yeast, albeit not a very pungent one.
Taste is a prickly hop and carbonated affair, nice lightly toasted pale malt, maybe even golden promise here. Toasty. Mouth feel delivers on the lager aspect and is dry and crisp to boot. This is a definite upgrade for my tastes compared to their Summerfest lager. Its just hoppier and better, with a bit more of a punch. I dunno why this isn't year round, its straightforward just as the label says. So what if you said one time only, this shit should be available in 12 packs and cases, every year.

For a hoppy lager, doesn't get better than this.

January 31st, 2015 - I *love* the Beer Camp boxes that appear from time to time at Costco, unceremoniously piled in with the other huge crates of beer, but clearly a gem in the crowd. Once home, I try them in order, which meant for this box beginning with the Beer Camp lager. Pouring a deep amber with a frothy off-white head it could be mistaken for an IPA, and even the aroma lends to the disguise, giving off notes of dankness and a little bit of body odor, but also the freshness of mineral water, like Perrier. The flavor is sweeter with a good, clean palate, with a nice, crisp hoppy taste. The sweeter side feels a little phoned in but its not cloying.

Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. "2015 Beer Camp Hoppy Lager"
12 fl. oz. bottle, "PKGD 01/02/15 1309" and sampled on 01/31/15
Notes: "55 IBUs" Golden body beneath a standard sized head of white. Aroma is hoppy, citrusy, herbal, and a touch spicy over a delicate malt base. The flavor adds-in some leafy and tea-like character which seems quite English, as well as traditional yeasty fruitiness that includes apple. The citrusy hops express grapefruit and orange, and they're followed by grassiness and spice in the finish. The biscuity and gently honeyish malt acts as a springboard for the hops, balancing but never stepping forward. Interesting to be sure, I'm amazed at the variety of hop flavors. For anyone who enjoys hoppy flavors but not the bitterness of IPAs, this is it!

Light gold beer with a small retained head. Some malt presence on the smell and a little IPA kick on the flavor but a relatively tame beer. Medium bodied, a little bandaid/phenol presence everywhere. Alcohol hidden very well! Cheers.
