The 6.9% ABV stated on the label might inspire you to think it's American styled, but the frigate on the label and short description of the style being brewed since the days of British colonial trade will question your first impression. Let's get this on:
Poured into a glass, its glows with a deep orange color. Now to smell, piney, fruity, and hoppy. A little faint for what I was expecting. When the beer hits the tongue, nothing happens at first touch, but it soon transforms into a citrusy, bitter treat. Notes of raisins, pinewood, and a touch of yeast are caught in the flavors. The bitterness lasts long on the palate.
American? English? Does it really matter? It tastes good. Not quite as bitter as their Celebration Ale.

A nice copper big with a big head. It has pine and oaky smells. You can't smell the hops in the aroma, but you can once you taste it. Great IPA for someone who isn't into IPA's and who doesn't enjoy that hoppy taste. Goes down smooth, with a pleasant aftertaste.
