Pours a clear copper color with a foamy taupe head. The taupe suds lace the glass as the beer is consumed. Orange and grapefruit citrus bouquet with some notes of toffee. The nose is rather absent. Taste is vile. It probably wouldn't taste so bad if not magnified by the mouthfeel. There's an overwhelming hop sourness that dominates the big malt one expects to experience in a barleywine. The piney hop resin coats the palate and continues to invade the senses well after the finish. I want my money back.
