On tap at the Country Corner in Setauket, NY. Served in a pint glass. Its been quite some time since I've had a Sierra Nevada pale ale and I don't think I've ever given it a fair shake on tap, so here we go.
Look: copper body with a thin, slightly off white head. Good retention and good lacing.
Smell: a little grain with a good amount of citrusy hop aroma, and the Cascade hops really stand out to me. Simple but inviting.
Taste: grapefruity, citrusy, fruity hops and a little caramel maltiness to balance it out but keeping it hop forward. One of the more aggressively hopped straight up pale ales you will find and for that I am grateful.
Feel: medium bodied, dry with a lingering hop bitterness, carbonated well, refreshing and a good beer for a session.
Overall: good beer. No wonder it has stood the test of time. Drinks light a light IPA rather than an APA and thats definitely a good thing, since APAs typically leave me wanting more. If you haven't gotten around to this beer yet, what are you waiting for?! Cheers!

12 oz bottle into a tumbler. I really need to work on my glassware situation, but I feel like any glass is better than none. Last one from a 6 pack, enjoyed this beer quite a bit. It's a style I love, and pretty typical for it.
Pours a slightly hazy light amber/dark blonde with less than one finger of creamy off white head. Lacing isn't anything to write home about.
Sniffs Good. Subtle and hoppy, probably cascade. Mouthfeel is pretty light, and drinks smoothly. Would be a good beer in the summer, and is great right now late in the winter too. Tastes well balanced with plenty of hops. If you don't like hops this one is pretty approachable. (People should just drink what they like though.)
