Pours a clear dark golden color. Beautiful dense white head, good retention. Slight lacing.

The aroma is faint: slightly toasted malt, biscuit like, herbal and minty hops.

Light in flavor, typical pale ale. Herbal and slightly minty hops throughout, ends with a very slight toasty malt. Well balanced.

Feels light in body, very drinkable and crisp.

Overall: Generally i like beers with a bit more flavor and aroma, but this is a fine and sessionable beer.

Poured from a can

A: Amber with a fluffy white head

S: Floral, spicy, piney

T: Citrus, pine, light malt sweetness, nice balance between the hops and malt

M: Smooth, nice well rounded finish

O: One of my go to beers. Now that Sierra is canning their beers I'll be drinking this at the beach all summer.

look: 5 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 4.5 | feel: 4.5 | overall: 4.5

Appearance: Crystal clear copper color with a white head that persisted for over 30 minutes.

Smell: Not much to the smell, slightly malty and citrusy

Taste: Citrusy, fruity, perfectly balanced with bitterness not overly sweet

Mouthfeel: Crisp and smooth, no astringency, or drying

Overall: Very drinkable, fantastic one of my favorites, a bit lacking in the aroma department

It's hard to beat a SNPA on a warm spring day, especially a really fresh one. Bursting with grapefruit, flower pollen, and spicy white pepper notes. Clean, dry, and drinkable with just a hint of caramel sugar to balance out the IBUs. I can see a 12 pack of cans being a spring/summer staple in my fridge. Kudos to Sierra Nevada for jumping on the can trend.

Consumed 4/5/12

Appearance: Clear, golden copper - pours with a nice, little white head, leaves above-average lacing

Smell: Lightly toasted grains, caramel malts - mildly sweet, mildly earthy - some mild pine and citrus - not particularly aromatic, could be better

Taste: Classic - toasted, grainy malts with some caramel malts, some crystal malts - mild sweetness - some citrus, some slight hoppy spiciness, a mild saltiness (I taste this in most SN beers, no idea why) - slightly bitter - nicely balanced

Mouthfeel: Medium, nicely carbonated, dry

Overall: Classic, even more classic in a can

I've had this on tap a bunch of times, and I always felt that the bottles felt... off. I am probably crazy, but I think the can format improves this beer. It's a classic.

Pours slightly hazy and golden with an abundant, lingering off-white head. As the head dissipates, plenty of sticking lacing is left on the glass. The smell is sweet from the malt and also has aromas of citrus and pine from the hops. The flavors up front are pine and citrus. There's also some malt sweetness in the flavor. The flavors are very well-balanced. The body is medium and there is plenty of carbonation. This beer is crisp and refreshing. Overall, this is an excellent beer. This pale ale is perfect for any occasion and is a great way to introduce someone to the pale ale style.

Pint at cafe deluxe at the venetian in las vegas for 6.50$

Appearance - Clear yellow colour with a large white fizzy head. There appears to be an average amount of carbonation and there is some fairly decent lacing. The head lasted for 3 minutes before it dissipated.

Smell - Hops, citrus zest, pine and corn syrup

Taste & Mouth - There is an average mount of carbonation and I can taste light citrus and a bit of woodiness. There is also a bit of grapefruit/lemon rind mixed with corn syrup and hops. It ends with a slight dry/bitter aftertaste.

Overall - Probably my favourite beer to session. The taste is perfectly balanced and the beer is highly drinkable. My go to pale ale that I was happy to finally try on tap.
