Well, I had high hopes for this brew. I have enjoyed virtually every Sierra offering up until this point. I poured it into a pint glass. It looks very neutral, nothing great a finger of fluffy white head.
Taking a whiff of this beer is basically like catching a faint smell of a 2 week old softball jersey soaked in Miller Lite.
The taste was not good, it couldn't be good. It tasted like nothing. Is this even beer? Were they trying to pull wool over my eyes? Granted, this style of beer isn't know for robust flavors or copious amounts of hops but really, this beer is flavorless. My wife doesn't care for the taste of beer much, she tried this and told me she could easily drink a 6 pack. There is no recognizable flavors, it is simple, bland, fizzy water.
Mouthfeel was very thin and watery. Not good
Drinkability was high because of the lower ABV and the fact that it has very little taste or aftertaste.
As you can tell, I was extremely disappointed and I pray that my wife has the will in her heart to actually drink this crap so I don't have to.

This beer is trash. I like (somewhat) some of Sierra Nevada's beers, but this is horrible. The appearance is that of watery yellow urine. The smell is almost nonexistant, and the taste is weak, watery, pale wheat. It's Coors with a different label. Mouthfeel, drinkability are nothing to speak of. Save yourself some money and buy a case of Natural Light if you want to drink swill.

I think this beer was in the store for way too long. 12 oz., unfiltered, bottle conditioned, with no freshness date. Pours into the weizen glass a pale cloudy straw color with a small head that leaves almost no lacing. Scents are white wine and raisins with no banana or phenol scents I was expecting. Taste is the same with a bit of lemon and reminds me of a hard cider in scent and flavor. Leaves a slight bitterness. Both the malts and hops are barely noticeable. Mouthfeel is thin and overcarbonated. Tastes nothing like a wheat beer or a hefeweizen. I can barely finish this. If I come across a fresher bottle I'll re-review.

pre-holiday tasting at my place attended by me, DrJay, Viggo, biegaman, and northyorksammy. i got this bottle in a recent trade with biegaman and threw it into the mix.
pours straw yellow with a big white head. the head drops slowly and leaves spottly lace.
my first thought when i smelled this one was 'i just opened a can of mushrooms'. consensus around the table was that i nailed it right on. after swirling it for a while the mushroom began to fade and a little malt came through.
taste is better than it smells, but not by much. still a little mushroom there, but also some light bitterness and a bit of malt.
mouthfeel is ok. decent carbonation level.
drinkability is not very good. it's hard to get past the smell on this one, so not very enjoyable. that said, i can't imagine it is supposed to taste like mushroom, so i'll definitely try this one again and modify the review at that time.

Poured into my favorite Wasabi 88 pint glass.
A- Looks exactly like a bud light or miller light any macro or lite/light beer
S-No real smell to speak of
T- Tastes thin watery not really much to this brew.
M- Thin watery nothing much to speak of
D- Sure you could drink a ton of these low carbonation and low ABV make this an easy drinking brew
Had I known it was going to taste like a Coors light I would've saved myself a good bit of money $9 for a 6-pack of coors is what I got.

Poured a cloudy golden yellow with a thick stark white head that subsided slowly. Aroma is just a dry cereal graininess with touch of fruity esters, no clove or banana to be detected. The taste is off balance IMO as the hops are to bitter in the beginning and the flavor hops linger too long into the finish. The lingering hop flavor is a little unpleasent as well due to it havin a strange citrussy cat piss flavor. I think they used Cluster in this one and i would rather they hadn't due to the weird flavor it imparts, neither citrussy earthy or noble it is merely an amalgam of flavors that is not very good. Mouthfeel is better with a smooth yet heavy carbonation but it does lack in body seeming just a little too clean. Hard to drink when cold as the flavor makes you wish it didn't linger so long, but as it warms the hops die back and it becomes at least moderatly drinkable.

Well. I knew from the get go this would be a lighter beer. I didn't expect this to be along the same lines of Pabst Blue Ribbon.
Normally I would do an indepth report on it, but it;s not worthy of it.
It's OK, if you like American Lager style beers.

This beer pours a light blond color with a decent head. There's a strong wheaty aroma with hints of malt. It actually reminds me of an unfermented wort. The taste is rather unimpressive and scattered. I've never had this style before so maybe it's just me. Not too bad but nothing impressive to me.

Bottle- pale, slightly cloudy appearance. Pretty typical American wheat, even though its unfiltered, theres no real yeasty clovey flavours, only a slight tang from the hops, pretty crisp, with a short palate, easy to drink. All the great beer i could have had for number 1500, and i drunk this?

Poured into a abbey chalice, just to be different. Left the lemon in the fridge for this one.
The beer is crystal clear on the first pour, and doesn't cloud up much even after pouring out the dregs. Seems odd for a hefe, but it's not a major issue. Beer is brassy gold, with moderate carbonation and a minimal white foamy head that dissipates quickly. Regenerates to a thin layer on agitation.
Aroma is heavy in the hops department, as one would expect from SN. The wheat's there as well, along with some spiciness, but it all takes a backseat to the hops. No estery/banana notes, again surprising given the style.
The taste starts out astringent as the hops make their presence felt. Strangely, there's little else there. When the initial hops bite is over, the redominant flavor is...water. Seriously, it reminds me of Perrier. Mouthfeel is watery, and the beer finishes clean with a lingering hops aftertaste.
This isn't bad for a session beer, and the low ABV means you could go through three or four with no ill effects. I suspect throwing in a lemon would erase any flavor characteristic in favor of the fruit. Place this one in the "I'll drink it if it's free" catergory, but if I have to pay there's so many better hefe choices out there.

Slightly hazy golden yellow with a small but attractive white head that disappears too soon after pouring. Smell is like one fresh hop cone that is very bland - it has a nice leafiness, but little else besides a budweiser-like hint of lemon. Flavor is extremely bland - starts like a macro lager but at the end has a quick shot of minty bitterness. Feel is smooth and a bit slick. This is one of the most bland beers that I have ever had. I don't drink bland beer. There are no offensive flavors, but no real good flavor either. Bleh, not worth the damage to my liver.

A refreshing beer that is basically forgettable on most levels... Lacking head with no staying power,...A muddled taste that refreshes while it disappoints... watery...A beer for those who need cooling down in 135 degree weather... water, soda, milk, tacks, then this for refreshment...

Bottle: Poured a white/yellow color slightly hazy beer with a quite large foamy white head with good retention. Aroma of weak is lighter then expected with subtle hops that are also discernable. Weak taste of wheat with a slight touch of bitter hops, which dont really fit in. Carbonation is just incredibly high which I dont mind for the style. Overall, I guess this is just a bit boring.

When I first came across this beer I was suprised to see that Sierra Nevada made a wheat. The first thing I thought was yeah it has to be different. This unfiltered bottle conditioned wheat beer pours with a magnificant white head, and has a deep golden hazy hue. The aroma is filled with a hint of hops, and citrusy undertones. However, the yeast that pours in almost overbears the other aromas in this beer. A long lasting head that leaves a nice heavy lace, as the glass empties. Overall, the taste wasn't what I was expecting. This beer just doesn't work for me. It's not bad, but I cannot stand behind this American version of a great style. A nice carbonation from the bottle conditioning, but overall the flavors don't seem to go well at all. The bread taste is to thick and overbearing for this beer to be truly enjoyable. Not a beer I will go after again.

Appearance: Looks like an American Lager. Not to encouraging.
Smell: Weak lager malt character. Not too much as far as wheat goes.
Taste: I don't understand the American Wheat Beer style. I assume that since it came after the Hefe Weizen, it should be better. Unfortunately American Wheats have been nothing but disappointments, and this one is no exception. It tastes like a typical American Adjunct Lager, only with wheat replacing the barley before all the filtering. It says on the bottle 'unfiltered', but it sure doesn't taste like it.
Drinkability: Just one, and I get a hankering for a real wheat beer like a Franzikaner or Weihenstapher Hefe.

Very light colour, with white head, and no smell for a wheat. Rather astringent ( "real") lemon sour off taste. Lightly hopped, smooth, oK carbonation, but forgettable.Had about two years' later and while less sour it was still acidic and bothered my teeth.

Pours a pale straw yellow, with a fluffy marsmallow white head. Head slowly disolves and there is some decent lacing left behind.
Aroma is faint wheat, faint hops.
Taste is much more of the same. finish is kind of dry.
ho-hum. Definitly not one of SN better offerings.

Gotten in trade with smcclelland (personal trade)
A: Slight cloudy yellow body, white head.
S: Heavily malty, wheat and yeast aroma. No hops, not very sweet. Off-putting at first, but interesting.
T: Slightly yeasty, slightly sweet flavor, some hops in background.
M: Thick mouthfeel, enjoyable.
D: Not bad for aan American Pale Wheat, but nothing special. Marks would be even lower if I considered this a true hefeweizen.

Sierra Nevada Wheat Beer pours a light hazy but still transparent yellow from a 12oz brown bottle.
Head forms nicely and dissolves to a thin cap with thin ring around the glass.
Nose is wheat with floral hops and palate is a thin carbonated wheat with floral hops.
Sierra Nevada has a number of top notch brews in its stable, sadly their unfiltered wheat Beer is not one of them. While not unpleasant, there is no umph to this wheat Beer... no hutzpah.

Nice foamy head, but the big streaming bubbles make it look a little like a golden-beer colored soda. Starts off bitter, but then ends up a little biscuity. Towards the end when it warmed up I noticed a slight chemical taste that I didn't really like. Not sure what it was. This seemed a little bitter for my tasted in a wheat beer. That and it's really hard to be impressed by a filtered wheat beer in my opinion.

Poured out golden yellow in color with a thin, creamy head that lingered.
S: Typical wheat but bland and "thin," lacked a solid nose.
T: Again lacked a distinct flavor, but some typical wheat flavors were subtly present: banana, clove, spice. Hoppy beginning with a malty-hop finish. Tasted more like a weak ale than a wheat beer.
Overall I was not impressed with this beer. I like Sierra Nevada's line, but this was sub-par. The beer lacked a distinct nose and flavor. Probably would never purchase again.
