A - Pours a nearly opaque, deep brown, allowing just a bit of light to shine through at the edges. Two fingers of light-tan head that drops down slowly, leaving some nice lacing behind. Good retention.
S - Roasted malt aromas with coffee and chocolate as well as some earthy hop character. Smell is nice, but just a bit mellow for a stout, in my opinion.
T - Roasty malt flavors hinting at coffee and unsweetened chocolate up front, with just a touch of dark fruit and caramel sweetness coming through. Balanced out by earthy, slightly grassy hop that lends a nice level of bitterness. Good flavor, although a slight increase in the roasted malt character would be nice.
M - Medium-full body with a subtle carbonation that lends smoothness. Bordering on a bit too thin, but it holds up well enough.
D - A very solid, sessionable stout from SN. Although the body comes off a little bit thin, it honestly adds to the drinkability. A well balanced stout that I wouldn't mind picking up again.

Pours a clear black. Exceptional head, lacing and retention. Light nose of chocolate, roast and caramel. Almost full bodied, yet creamy. Normal carbonation with a bit of effervescence on the finish. The flavor profile is very well balanced, but not as complex as the world class stouts. It's a nice blend of chocolate, roast and slightly sweet caramel that flows into a low level bitterness. The finish is smooth leaving you with a nice lingering tingle of cocoa and hops.
