12oz. bottle, chilled.
Pours almost black in color, has a thick tan head that lasts a while. Very much what a stout should look like, nice. Aroma is inviting, has roasted coffee/chocolate hints, typical of stouts.
This seems noticeably more bitter than SA Porter, yet is still well-balanced for a stout, it isn't too burnt or smoky-tasting like some stouts I've tried. The use of nice whole-cone hops puts another flavor in the mix. For a stout at 5.8% abv, I find it filling and satisfying, has a nice thick mouthfeel and medium level of carbonation.
Overall, for $8 a six-pack, this is a great choice, and is easily found in most liquor stores and supermarkets near me. Highly recommended.
