Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a wine glass.
A - pours an oily black with a tan head. Not much of a head, dissipates quickly. Leaves a bit of foam on the surface. Not much lacing. Doesn't appear to be overly carbonated.
S - dark chocolate, coffee, and roasted malt all in the mix here. The chocolate is bit more prominent than I had anticipated but not in an overpowering.
T - dark chocolate, coffee, and roasted malt on the front. The taste follows the nose very well. A little bit of hop character that balances the darkness of the other flavors. Nothing fancy here, just a delicious stout.
M - medium to heavy bodied. Definitely not as heavy as other stouts I've head, which lends itself well to the drinkability factor.
O - overall, a really great classic example of the style. It seems like a lot of stouts nowadays have some type of gimmick to them. I love those and they are not bad at all but it is nice to just have a straight up example of the style.
