Poured from a 12-ounce bottle into my Sierra Nevada pint glass.
A: Pours a very clean looking orange with a two-finger tan head of pillow-soft foam. Carbonation is lively throughout and head retention is fairly strong.
S: Smells like an inviting grove of grapefruits and pine trees. Some very nice hops were definitely used here.
T: Bitter-sweet, citrus hop rush in the beginning, then a smooth layer of malt washes over of the middle of my palate before pushing the burn down the back of my throat. This is really quite an enjoyable brew.
M: Very, very clean and smooth. Medium-light bodied IPA, which is such a plus for this style. Cascade hops do just that, cascade across the palate.
D: With an ABV ranking just below 6%, and a taste the way this one has, I could see throwing back quite a few of these in a night. Just light enough to go with most food, and near perfect on its own.
So pleased with this brew, I'm glad I managed to get a hold of some. I'm a pretty big fan of all Sierra Nevada products, and save the Celebration Ale and Bigfoot Barleywine, this one sits right up near the top. A great American IPA.
