Tried at Papago Brewing, Scottsdale, AZ. The pint arrived a golden shade with decent head that dissipated fairly quickly. Smell was a big blast of hop aroma, like a SNPA turned up from eight to twelve.
The taste has more balance than the nose would lead one to believe, in Sierra Nevada terms I'd says its somewhere between a Celebration and a Pale Ale, with a dash of Bigfoot for body and spice. The hops are still fairly dominant and a little sharp, but they share the stage a little more and aren't as overpowering as in the aroma.
Mouthfeel was good, and drinkability was a little above average. A nice once-a-year treat from Sierra Nevada, but I'm still going to look forward to Celebration and Bigfoot seasons.
Serving type: on-tap
