Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass.
Appearance: A hazy, golden-orange. Two fingers of slightly off-white head that subsided decently slowly. Good lacing.
Smell: Another review that said 'subdued' for the smell was spot on. The hops are fainter here than I've come to expect for SN brews. It's much more balanced - the slightly citrusy/bready hops are offset by the bready malt.
Taste: Much more full flavored than the nose would indicate, and it's a very balanced IPA. A nice grassy hop bitterness, backed nicely by a sweet bready malt backbone. The aftertaste is only slightly bitter, and dissipates quickly. Tastes more like a pale ale than an IPA, and is much more balanced than both of SN's offerings.
Mouthfeel: Good carbonation, and good body.
Drinkability: Very easy drinking - it's a lot like a bolder version of the classic SNPA. More full flavored, but still easy to drink. I enjoyed this one, and wouldn't turn it down at a party.
