2009 edition. 12oz bottle poured into a pint glass.
This beer is a nice pale copper with lighter, almost golden highlights in my glass. Three fingers of fluffy off-white head billow up quickly. A nice layer with big bubbles and clumps hangs around till to the bottom of the glass. Lacing is very evident.
The aroma is Golding hops with a sweet malt backdrop.
The flavor is definitely hop-forward. A strong bitterness is your companion for this journey, meeting you at the beginning and hanging on to the very end. This is not to suggest that the beer is unbalanced, though. There is both sweet and biscuity malt flavor to balance the hops.
The mouthfeel is very nice. Medium-full. Pretty much perfect for this style.
This beer is meant to be enjoyed in quantity. I could definitely go for a few of these, but the bitterness might wear on me after a time.
