Pours bubbly, nice size head. Pale bronze, soapy, foamy head that leaves a strong lcaing. Nice looking beer.
Aroma is super malty, a sour, bready, doughy smell. Supremely malty. Not very much hop presence here which I feel important to note just due to the hoppy taste of the brew. Segway...
Super hop kick in here is the first noticible thing. Definite western style to this ESB. However it is nicely balanced with some biscuity malt. Finishes bitter but not overpowering, a bit of an astringent aftertaste. Fine effort.
Mouthfeel is very very good, perfect consistency, no alcohol, medium-bodied.
I have yet to actually drink a Sierra Nevada brew that I don't like, which is peculiar with this review considering that I'm not actually a huge fan of ESBs. Though most Sierra Nevadas are very hopped and it may be an indication of how much of a hop head I actually am.
