Served as a reddish amber that is just slightly hazy with a nice fluffy slightly tan head.
Smell. A nice hearty hop aroma full of citrus and caramel, with a touch of pine to go with it. Smells creamy and seems the malts come out nicely.
Taste. A nice esb, balanced but still hoppy. More of the pine flavors come out to me, but overall it is more dominant with the caramel flavors. Has a little bit of an earthyness to it. Aftertaste balances nicely with the bitternesss and the sweetness of the beer.
Mouthfeel. Body is on the fuller side of medium with a good amount of carbonation.
Overall, a nice esb. For some reason I expected more from this beer (i guess just my expectations). But it has a very nice balance with a nice hop character. Will need to get again...soon.
Serving type: on-tap
