I was happy to find a special display with these at Discount Liquor here in Milwaukee the other day. This ale pours a slightly cloudy copper amber with a very healthy inch-and-a-half taupe head that's a bit billowy. It falls some, but leaves great lacing around the glass. The nose is dominated by the hops: citrus, pine, and grassy notes. A more subdued caramel malt undercurrent provides good contrast and balance. The first taste reveals a real hop smorgasbord for the palate. Bright citrus rind, pine, and--perhaps most prominent--grass and herbal notes are all present right up front. Just a touch of apricot in the mix. There is some subtle but well-needed caramel sweetness in the middle. This is followed by a spot of clear alcohol, which is replaced by ample hop bitterness at the close. This beer is medium-bodied, smooth, and quite clean-finishing. It's marked by substantial acidity and effervescence.
This is a real treat for a hop head like me. Start to finish--inside and out--the hops command the experience of this ale. I was a bit surprised to find that the grassy and herbal notes won out in the taste, though citrus and pine are still well-represented. You've got to love that nice bitter bite at the end. This is a very engaging brew that is sure to satisfy fans of the IPA and APA styles.

Picked up a growler, poured into a nonic pint. The nose is pretty malty, fair amount of citrus. Clear amber-orange. Good amount of head, and a TON of lacing, the glass is coated. The flavor is outstanding...citrus, floral, and pine. Good good, love these from SN every season.

Stated 2014 on the bomber.
A - Pours out super clear ambersh orange with a frothy three finger off white head that leaves incredible lacing around the glass.
S - Floral, citrusy, fruity, raisin, fig, caramel, sweet and malty. Complex and Beautiful!
T - Sweet, floral, caramely, gratefruit/citrus, fruity esters, lemon zest, bitterness. Very well balanced!
M - Medium bodied and super soft in the mouth, almost frouthy. Carbonation is perfect on this, which really makes it a pleasure to drink outright.
O - Can I say I love this beer! I had it on tap at a local bar and it grabbed my attention like no other beer that I have had thus far. I enjoyed it so much, I went on a wild goose chase looking for it at all the local beer stores with no avail, I asked a beer store if they would get it on the next shipment and sure enough it came in! I will be picking more of this up, that is for sure. The beer has so much to offer, and yet it is so smooth with a perfect blend of flavors and aromas. Its balance has no offensive flavors to speak of. If you want an excellent fresh hop ale look no further, this is a must get cheers!
