What a treat from start to end. A Sierra Nevada distributor threw me and my team a few bottles today and this was among the best.
The pour was very pleasing. Great great copper/auburn hue with a big 'ol creamy head that stays put. Good lookin' girl.
I enjoyed the nose on this, hoppy but not over the top with a blend of sweetness and little tiny baby bit piney. Very pleasant.
Brass tacks (Copper tacks here?) What a rich taste. The hop profile is clear immediately but give it a second and that sweetness makes all the difference. I appreciate that they didn't go over the top with the hops. the bottle's description is spot on "Fresh Hop Ale." Boom. Drink it.
Solid finish too. It doesn't linger too long uninvited.
But don't take my word for it! ( I'm thinking of a sign off line, Reading Rainbow did that didn't it? Lavar Burton thought of everything)

Poured from a 24 oz bottle into a New Belgium Ranger IPA pint glass.
A: Deep amber body. White, rocky head. Cratered as it slowly receded, leaving a nice heavy lace no t he glass, with a substantial head layer remnant on the beer surface.
S: A very outdoorsy botanical scent dominates, smells like hay and pine. Citrusy scents complement the main aroma.
T: Hoppy...the pine and straw dominate the flavor. Bitterness suppresses the sweetness of the malts all the way through. The malts are there, just well hidden. One dimensional.
M: Very thick, syrupy texture. Carbonation is not excessive, seems well matched to the mouthfeel. Despite the seemingly heavy character, is surpassingly crisp.
O: Not a terribly complex beer. But that's okay for this brew, because going in this is a hopped up brew and on that...it delivers with a purpose. This is a nice brew to sit back and enjoy on a mild spring day. The hops used impart a very spring like character and make this a really neat beer.
