Haven't contributed a review in a while, and thought to give some new brew's in the fridge a go.

Southern Hemisphere pours a orange, almost amber, hue with a pretty modest cream colored head of decent retention.

Aroma is pretty typical IPA; piney resin, floral, herbal, with nuances of grapefruit and light biscuit. Not too bold in any department, but well rounded so far.

Taste is of a delicate sort. This is a pretty big stretch for a IPA, but seems to be a relatively hoppy pale ale. Nonetheless, it is still a good beer. Begins with bitterness and pine, and finishes much more robust with herbal hoppiness, light caramel, biscuit and grassy bitterness right at the end.

Mouthfeel was medium, nice an tasty to enjoy in a session, and big enough to have on its own. A good beer in my book.

Drinkability is solid. It's pushing the upper limits with its ABV, but the alcohol is not noticeable during my tasting.

Appearance is a bright, transparent rust orange and pours a fluffy off-white+pink head.

Smells of citrus, floral, and slightly spicy.

Tastes slightly of pineapple, caramel, and spicy hops.

Mouthfeel is a well balance between malt and hop, slightly spicy up front with a bitter, then sweet finish.

Overall, a good IPA but nothing spectacular.

Appearance: Clear copper. Big, cream head.
Smell: Floral, citrus, alcohol, and perhaps pineapple.
Taste: Floral and citrus.

This is great. It certainly does have a fresh taste...I think. There is a good bit of alcohol
in both the smell and taste; much more than what the ABV hints. Also, I think I'm getting some malt as well as citrus rinds from the taste. Total package, this is a great brew. I would definitely get it again. For whatever reason, I'm having trouble describing it.

24oz bottle into a pint glass
Bottled on: 4/24/14

A: Pours a translucent dark copper with 3 plus fingers width of off white colored head. Head has good retention before dissipating down to a think film, and leaves lots of lacing.

S: Very malt forward, following the malts are some citrus and subtle tropical fruit hop notes; a bit of booze and a barleywine like candied sugar sweetness.

T: Lots of sweetness, caramel and candied sugar; piney and floral hops, along with some citrus rind. Hop profile more prominent than on the aroma. Tasty.

M/D: Medium bodied, smooth for the style, drinkability is average.

O: Good, but not great. Better than most IPAs out there, but I prefer both SN Pale and Torpedo to this one.
