A very nice looking brew. On the dark side for a pale ale with its almost chestnut hued body. Poured into a mason jar as it was tasted at the in-laws. Nice, tight, and almost whipped two finger pale tan coloured head with excellent retention. Fairly actively carbonated with a multitude of very finely bubbled streams rising to the top of the glass. Big and sticky gobs of lace cling to the inside of the jar.
Main aroma is the floral and citrusy hops, overtop a nicely malted brew with malty aromas of crusty whole grain bread and some more roasted malty aromas of toast and even a mild nutty aroma. Somewhat creamy, and fairly actively carbonated, although it is quite finely bubbled.
Taste is much like the aroma, the hops hit first with floral and then citrus flavours. The malts eventually break through with their crusty wholegrain bread , toasty and nutty flavours, hints of toffee and caramel also present. The finish comes back to the hops with a floral and slightly woody and piney bitterness.
A bold medium bodied brew, richly hopped and malted for a nice depth of flavour, feel, and overall drinking experience. Somewhat creamy, and fairly actively carbonated, although it is quite finely bubbled. Well attenuated with just a touch of astringency that comes along to almost clean the palate at the finish.
Very drinkable, especially considering the 6.7% ABV. Too big to be truly sessionable, but this would be a great beer to drink all night long with its flavour and depth. This is a nicely and almost aggressively hopped pale ale, that is highly recommended to those who enjoy hoppy brew or are looking at getting into hoppier brews. Hopefully this becomes a yearly seasonal offering, it was a pleasant surprise to find this at the Keyport in Superior.

A: a little cloudy dark orange amber with good off white head and ok lacing
S: smells kinda odd to me, kind of a little spicy and piney with some malt at the end
T: taste is what makes this beer, its very well balanced and super easy to drink. Got a nice spicy and hop taste to it with some sweet malt lingering and a great slightly bitter after taste
M: good mouthfeel but i suck at reviewing mouthfeel
O: for taste is probably in my top 10 wish it was easier to find as its a great price and easy to drink
