Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a glass beer mug.

A - An absolutely gorgeous cloudy golden amber with a tall, frothy pillow of foam on top with great retention. My mouth is watering just looking at it.

S - Lots of upfront grain and a slight bit of citrus, with less banana phenol/bubblegum than the norm. Still has the clove character, though its main profile is citric and light.

T - Crisp, fresh wheat flows over the palate, joined by the light citrus, with the banana and clove easier to detect when tasting. It differs a fair bit from the other hefes I've had, but it is a great flavor nonetheless.

M - A decent bit of body, peppy carbonation, and lots of smoothing foam make this a joy to feel as it goes down.

D - Despite the modest ABV, this one goes to your head pretty quick. That and its very filling character hold it off from session perfection, but it's still a good choice when downing a few.

Overall - A slight variation on the strict norm of the hefeweizen, but it's such an excellent brew despite that. It's light lemony character adds the perfect touch to the style. This is easily a new addition to my favorites.

Had this in a pint glass at around 45 degrees.

Appearance: Gorgeous yellow with a 2.5 finger head that stays and doesn't dissipate quickly.

Smell: It is definitely restrained although I get some banana and some creaminess.

Taste: This is where it shines. Some lemon, cream, banana, clove (although not very much), sourdough bread.

Mouthfeel: creamy, easy, superb carbonation, light.

Overall: I would highly recommend this beer as it is an excellent interpretation of this style and quite possibly my favorite hefe.
