Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass.
A - Very cloudy yellowish orange with about 2 fingers of foamy white head that stuck around a little while. Good amount of carbonation bubbles streaming up.
S - Very solid hefe smell. Bananas, cloves, and some peppery spices.
T - Very similar to the nose. Banana up front with the cloves and spicy pepper on the back end.
M - Fairly creamy and light with a good amount of carbonation. Heavy enough that you probably wouldn't want to session this.
O - A solid hefeweizen. Sierra Nevada does some good work and this is no exception.

Not a style I look to find very often but after seeing the reviews I wanted to try it,Iam glad I did.Poured into a weizen glass a hazed golden with a shade of peach,a frothy large head atop settled very slowly into a creamy mass leaving mulitple sheets of lace behind.Aromas of banana and some toasty grain, the clove-spice is not overpowering wich is nice.Nice creamy mouthfeel its full but airy light if you can understand that.Flavors are fruity up front with some lemon pith to go along with the big banana notes, the clove and toasted cereal grain flavors finish up.A great hot weather brew well rounded and flavorful, likely the best of the style I have had I think.

Appearance - This is a rich and cloudy yellowish-orange in color with a modest head.
Smell - The big banana and sweetish yeast come pretty darn close to pulling off a traditional nose. There's a light orange tinge that seems to blend in with the flavors and provides a nice, fruity, summertime atmosphere to this beer.
Taste - The banana is subdued at the taste but still there and the orange flavors take one step forward. I'm usually not a big fan of orange in my HW but this isn't bad. It's not like an orange juice drink but more like an orange rind. The yeast does a great job of keeping up with the other flavors and really is the deciding factor in producing a tasty all around profile.
Mouthfeel - This just does make the grade with a light body helped along by tingly carbonation. There is a complete absence of bitterness to this HW, and I say that only because the SN Wheat Beer crapola that was such a disappointment had among other things a horrendously inappropriate leafy bitterness at the finish. So, kudos for learning from your mistakes.
Drinkability - I can count on one hand the number of successful American efforts at the style and include this one from SN in that group. Other than a few hard to find examples, if we're talking general availability, Brooklyn Brewing makes the only hefe weizen that compares favorable to this. If you've ever had Rio Salado's Hurricane Hefe that and this SN are strikingly similar. Overall a tremendous product from SN that really showcases the depth of the brewmasters there.

Probably the best American Hefe you can buy. I think it is quite tasty but I'm not a big fan of the sour like taste to it. I'm just a Hefe brat, I've had the best in the world, so I do perfer other hefes like Ayinger Bräu Weisse or Weihenstephaner Hefe Weissbier. I would drink this but if I could choose other Hefe's first I'd choose them.

Pours a deep, dense yellow color in which you can't see through at all. Somewhat volatile beer when poured, but the thin, white head disappeared nearly seconds after the pour. Nose is full of wheat, yeast, bread, and clove with a tiny hint of banana and maybe even mint. Beer has a great wheat taste full of clove, biscuits, banana, and bubble gum. As the beer warmed up, some grassy notes ended up coming through along with esters and a sharp, tart flavor, but the fruitiness never died down and the clove remained the strongest flavor of them all. Quite a bit of carbonation, but it works well with this beer and gives it a crisp flavor that accompanies the flavor profile nicely. Medium-thin body with a bit of stickiness and a pretty dry finish.
Another great beer from Sierra Nevada. This one is up there with some of the best German hefeweizens. At the relatively low price and low ABV, this is one of my favorite session beers.

Sierra Nevada Kellerweis Hefeweizen, 4.8% alcohol poured into Weizen glass.
A- Pours a highly hazed golden colored fluid with a medium head that falls to a froth and ring around the glass. Decent lacing forms a distorted ring but sticks. In the light it looks as if the beer is sunny but has a heavy fog all around.
S- Smells of fresh cut bananas strait off the vine with hints of musty yeast and vanilla cream.
T-M- Taste is creamy with a banana milkshake coming to mind. Light all spice flavors hide behind the banana but are there with light clove. Easy to drink with a meduim carbonation and creamy feel makes this beer a winner in my book.
Great beer for session drinking.

Poured from a bottle to chilled glass.
Appearance - Pours into the glass nicely, swirled the last 1/3 of the bottled and poured it in. Has a thin white head about a finger. Settles to a very thin head. The color of the beer is beautiful. Has a foggy light gold tangerine color to it. Looks tasty and refreshing. Almost zero lacing.
Smell - I get hints of clove and wheat bread, and a little bit of banana. I noticed that the aromas got a little bit stronger half way through the glass.
Taste- This hef has a slight orange and lemon flavor up front which is finished by some clove and wheat. The beers flavor is layered quite nicely. Flavors linger on the palate for some time. Very crisp and clean. This beer really hits the money right when you swallow a gulp. The flavors really pop out as soon as it goes down the throat.
Mouthfeel - The carbonation tickles your tongue and the beer feels smooth in the mouth. It feels lighter than it looks.
Overall - First off, hefeweizens aren't my first choice when I drink a beer, but I don't mind them. I expected a lot from this beer after reading some of the other reviews, and I can say that it has lived up to the expectations. Quite an easy beer to drink and the flavors really shine. I have no problem going back to this one in the future.

A: Poured into a nice Hef glass, it was a lovely hazy, yellow straw color. It's hard to stop this one from wanting to deliver a three finger head. Nice fine off-white cap. Lively carbonation makes the head return with every swig. Some suspended yeast visible.
S: Dry, yeasty, wheaty banana with a hint of spice.
T: A touch of hop-like bite that is probably more tartness from yeast and carbonation. There is a breadiness and wheaty flavor but it goes quickly into a balanced banana and clove with a hint of bubblegum. There is a touch of pear and lemon there too. The finish is very dry with residual fruity flavors.
M: Light side of medium body - probably due to the yeast. High carbonation that is gentle on the palate.
D: This is a very well balanced and enjoyable beer. I don't go out of my way to drink wheat beers but this one feels like a drink that I would enjoy after a hard day in the sun. Really tasty and refreshing. Sierra Nevada really knows how to brew a beer. Hats off.

Nice in the style hefeweizen from SN.
Pours straw colored and slightly cloudy with a nice head that dissipates slowly and leaves some lacing. Nicely carbonated.
Smell is at first banana with wheat and a light spice.
Taste is clove, light malt, wheat and maybe a little pepper.
Mouthfull is nice, light, almost thin with a faint bittering.
This is a very drinkable beer and perfect for a hot summer day!

Being a Hefeweizen fan, I bought a 6-pack the first time it appeared at my local liquor store.
Appearance: Rich and cloudy looking, with the orange/yellow color distinct to unfiltered Hefs. Pours with a slight, frothy head.
Smell: Subtle, slightly bready with some distinct yeast. Nothing overpowering.
Taste: Like the smell, is definitively bready. Banana is very up front, and there is a slight hops bitterness which gently balances out the banana and cloves sweetness.
Mouthfeel: Crisp yet vaguely creamy. Slight tang.
Overall: This is an excellent American Hefeweizen. Flavorful without being excessively sweet. The notes of banana are very pleasant. Incredibly drinkable.

A 6pack from Gary's in Portsmouth, NH. The beer was a hazy yellow color with a thick, white, meringue-like head. Little bit of lacing. The aroma was primarily banana, also some sweetness and spice. I tasted banana, clove, and a little bit of lemon. I had Kellerweis not too long after drinking Rogue's Mom Hefe, and felt it to be superior. Not usually a hefe drinker, but this was a pretty good beer.
