This beer pours a nice cloudy pale yellow with a pillowy white head. Aromas are banana and clove with a hint of the phenolic medicinal character. Flavors mirror the aroma with a subtle tartness and a crispy, refreshing finish. This is a very fine example of a hefeweizen. Taste is pretty heavy on the wheat, slight hints of bananas and spices. Flavor really opens up well at warmer temperatures. Medium thickness, no bitterness to speak of.. And I dont really care for wheat beers!! This one is the best wheat beer I have ever tasted.

A-Nice hazy golden yellow color. Nice strong white head. Retention is quite nice. Lacing isn't too bad.

S-Not too sure if its my glass but i got a metallic note in there, but has good aroma albeit light. Faint clove and yeasty notes. Bits of fruit or something at the end.

T- A good bit of sweetness and clove upfront. A hint of banana is there. nice dry finish. It's damn good and refreshing.

M- very light and lively. I wish it had a bit more carbonation, but just an opinion. overall very drinkable.

O- while not being to familiar with the style, id say its another great beer. The score may not reflect that, but it's not too suited to my taste. I feel it a bit light in character overall. Don't get me wrong, it's great; just not that impressive.

Poured into a shaker pint glass.

Look: Murky burnt yellow color, orangish tint. An eggshell colored head recedes to a white film, light spots of watery lacing.

Aroma: Fruity bouquet dominated with banana notes and wheat.

Taste: A really solid wheat and grain backbone dressed up in sweetness and banana peels.

Mouthfeel: Medium in weight with some carbonation.

Overall: Really sweet and refreshing.

Bottle into weizen glass. Poured as suggested on label.

A - Medium density, 3-finger head reducing to about half-finger. Moderate lacing. Before becoming opaquely hazy it bubbles like champagne.

S - Disappointing/lacking for style. Mainly clove, yeast, and soap. Some hints of banana/banana bread, but not nearly enough compared to other hefes.

T - Even more disappointing. Anything it was trying to accomplish feels restrained and shoved into an ill-fitting envelope. None of the smells make any substantial presence on the palate. Nothing remotely interesting.

M - Smooth, easy drinking, refreshing. However, also unacceptably flat and slightly oily. The degree of carbonation evident on pour has been completely lost, which is a shame since it needs carbonation (or something, at minimum) to make up for the lack of bitterness.

O - Perhaps my tastes have been ruined by DIPAs; perhaps pale wheat ales have ruined hefes for me. Whatever the case, a disappointing brew. No hallmarks of the hefe style are expressed as extreme as I've come to expect Sierra Nevada to generally do with a given style/beer. This isn't a necessarily a bad brew, though it left much to be desired stylistically.
