On tap at the Toronado. Poured into a tulip glass.
A-Pours a dark brown and has a one finger off white head that has some decent retention. Leaves some nice spotted lace.
S-It has a little bit of everything. I get some light stone fruit, roast malt, a little bit of sap, and some light citrus hops.
T-It starts with some sweetness and a touch of roast malt. The roast flavor remains throughout the entire session. Like the nose, citrus hops pop out as it warms. The citrus hops rescue the flavor from being overly roasty. It has a decent level of bitterness.
M-Medium bodied and is very dry. It has a spritzy carbonation level.
D-I found it to be an easy drinking beer. I would have another if it were offered, but I wouldn't go out of my way to find it.
I liked this beer more than I thought I would. After reading some reviews my expectations were set extremely low. The hops saved this one for me. Worth checking out if you have tried its bigger brother.

This is a rather pedestrian beer from Sierra Nevada. This version, available at Lord Hobo in Cambridge, seems to be a collaboration with Dogfish and has an abv of 10.2%!
Deep amber color and very clear. Provides a spotty blanket of lace.
The smell is exceptionally mild, particularly from either of these brewers. With some searching, I think I might have found a touch of hop.
There's an interesting juniper berry flavor on the initial taste. Very dry finish that leaves nearly no aftertaste. The body is quite watery.
