On tap on Home Keg system. Kegged date not stamped.
Appearance: Clear and clean golden yellow. Nice 1' head, that remained small cusp throughout drink.
Smell: very minimal in the smell department. Bread comes immediately to mind and very little hop presence.
Taste: First sip is creamy and smoothy goodness. Leans more toward malt than hops and actually quite balanced. Not sweet dominated, which is what I like in Maibocks. Hops are present but very subdued and add more for balance than anything else. SN nailed the Maibock style and just because they are SN, this does not mean every beer should hop dominated.
Overall: my first impression of this beer was a disappointment. Not sure why but upon my next visit, this beer really grew on me. Drinkablity is perfect for several pints and this is really a very good Maibock that I will have again next year.
Serving type: on-tap
