Poured from a 12 oz bottle into nonic pint glass.
A - Clear, bright gold. Half inch, perhaps a little more, of white head rises. Retention is somewhat short before foam falls to a patchy cap. Decent lacing.
S - Very biscuity, with a modest hop presence. Grassy, a tad earthy, a tad peppery. Quite simple but nicely done.
T - Meh, not one of the most flavorful brews out there. Still very biscuity with a moderate sweetness. Mild grassy hops attempt to pull through but ultimately Glissade devolves into the all too familiar "grainy" flavor late palate. Mild bitterness in the finish with just a hint of pepper.
M - Excellent medium light body, though the carbonation is moderate. I don't mind the thickness, but I think a little more carbonation would be appropriate in order to make Glissade a bit more quaffable. The mild biscuit-like sweetness can get a little old and I wouldn't mind a few more bubbles to thin the flavor out.
D - Glissade won't blow anyone's mind, but hopefully at the very least it'll be a great gateway beer for those yet to be initiated. I could certainly drink a few of these without thinking too hard. Now if only a brewery out there would come out with a maibock somewhere between Glissade and Dead Guy...
