Surprised that there seems to be a consensus among those who do not like this beer that they believe it tastes like pbr. I mean in my oppinion this is what pbr should taste like, a simple, bready, slightly bitter beer. I guess the funky flavor of the euro hops may be interpreted by some as being similar to the funky aftertaste of pbr. After doing some research I saw that a lot of the people who thought this was the case are more IPA oriented and may be unfamiliar with the complexity of european hops (they don't taste like grapefruit rinds, not to put down american hops which are also great).
This beer looks the way I want a session beer to look, a nice head, a wonderful golden color thats at least twice as dark as the pbr's and buds of this world.
The smell is overwhelmed by the bready malt, with a bit of funky/bitter orange aroma from the hops, quite pleasant.
The taste is seriously bready (those who believe this is similar to pbr I would really think you should try these two beers side by side) like drinking a delicious loaf of french bread. The finish is of medium bitterness with the funky/bitter orange taste from the hops.
Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied, rather heavy on the tongue when the color is so light (deceptively heavy is what I'm trying to say). I thought this was the best part of the beer, it just feels really good on the tongue, more body would have made this beer have the consistency of actual bread, any less and it would have felt watery at 6.4%.
Drinkability is high, any more body this would be very different, but they just got the mouthfeel right. Nothing in the flavor stops you from drinking this one, so definitely as sessionable as a 6.4% beer can be. The only thing stopping this beer from being the kind of beer where a 6 pack is doable in a night is the alcohol content.
