(Bottle purchased ~April 2011)
Appearance: Dark straw gold. Crystal clear. Actually very striking. Modest head which dissipates rapidly.
Smell: Subdued. Note of fresh cereals. No real hop presence.
Taste: Rush of clean cereal on beginning. Barest hint of floral hops. Middle continues much the same but begins a bittering trend. Finish is dry and pleasantly bitter.
Mouthfeel: Partly effervescent. Wonderfully dry. Gentle on the palate without being restrained or subdued.
Overall: A very good Maibock from Sierra Nevada. Might just be me, but I can sorta sense the connection with the SNPA. So, a good version of their house "style" as it were. Anyway, really enjoyed this one.
