Let me start by saying this is my least favorite beer out of the beer camp sampler case.
Appearance: dark black pour with a tan head leaves a slight lacing.
Smell: Overwhelming smell of juniper reminds me of gin which I do not like. Slight coffee aroma also present.
Taste: I get a smooth and creamy coffe taste out of this beer but that juniper flavor is always there too..
Overall: This is definitely a different style of beer than your normal everyday beer. I find it ok but not really my cup of tea..

On tap at Toronado in San Diego, CA.
Pours an almost opaque super dark brown with a foamy dark khaki head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Foamy rings of lace line the glass on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, cocoa, citrus zest, and slight juniper berry. Taste is much the same with a cocoa flavor on the finish. There is a medium amount of roasty bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that is interesting but isn't as juniper forward as I was expecting.
