Purchased a 4pk at Wegmans in Warrington, PA
Poured and enjoyed in a DFH Signature Glass
A - Beer pours a semi-translucent, golden/amber color. A one finger, short lasting head on the initial pour that dissolves to a white skim that lasts throughout the tasting. Decent lacing left on the glass.
S - A very hoppy, flowery, pine resin aroma. Inviting aroma to a hop head.
T - A DIPA that lives up to the hype. A great combination of aggressive, rather bitter hops along with a malty, caramel-like backbone. The familar piney, grapefruit flavors round out the taste. A dry finish. The ABV is pretty well hidden but it sneaks through as the beer warms a bit.
M - A medium consistency with light to medium carbonation. The palete takes a pretty good hit with the bitter hops.
O - This is my kind of brew. Hoppy, citrusy and in your face, the way a good DIPA should hit you. What makes this beer so good is that it is well-balanced and isn't just a hop bomb. Good job Sierra Nevada, another home run. Highly recommended.
