24oz bottle split with russwbeck and poured into a Dogfish Head Signature glass.
A - Pours a nice golden amber, a bit hazy but not too cloudy with sediment. About 2-finger's worth of creamy, soapy head with pretty good retention. Good lacing spackles the glass with many little bubbles.
S - The smell is strong pine notes, abundant amount of Simcoe hops, but honestly a little bit faint. Not incredibly hop heavy or bitter smelling despite the name. Actually some strong malts here, lots of caramel. Strong alcohol heat is coming through as well.
T - The taste is... again, really faint and underwhelming. The only noticeable hops are the slight Simcoe characteristics but lots of malts. Alcohol heat comes through way too strongly here, very astringent. Not too easy to drink. Finish lingers a long time, unfortunately for this beer.
M - Mouthfeel is medium-bodied with moderate carbonation. Coats the mouth thickly.
D - Drinkability is moderate. Honestly this beer is underwhelming. Not overly bitter, and everything just seems a bit faint and weak. Disappointing.
