I had this at Cannery Row Brewing Company which is a brand new brewery in Monterey.

Appearance- cloudy yellow color, thin head

Smell- very faint aroma, spices

Taste- herbal spices

Mouthfeel- light bodied

Drinkability- This was a pretty good witbier. I enjoyed it thoroughly. (279 characters)

A really unique beer for Sierra Nevada. This was made at one of their beer camps. It is a light orange color with a thick white head. Aroma is of Belgian yeast, slightly citrus which may come from the use of mandarin oranges in it. Flavor was wheaty and bready, a little tart but very well balanced with an appropriate amount of coriander, not over the top. Very refreshing to drink. Mouthfeel was good for such a low alcohol beer. It certainly isn't a XXX Anniversary beer but it is a nice easy drinking beer. (510 characters)

On-tap at Abraxas, whose owner Diego participated in the SN beer camp. Generously poured for free to anyone who wanted one, on occasion of Abraxas' 3rd anniversary celebration.

Poured into a St. Bernie's wit glass, looked like a nice wit with typical white-gold body, solid white foam.

A crowded bar with a bunch of smokers is *not* the best environment in which to try to sniff out nuance in a delicate witbier, but I tried. Pepper and light citrus noted, along with a bit of the sourdough yeast aroma you'd expect of a wit.

Solid wit here, with taste right down the middle for the style - definite coriander, soft mouthfeel, good wheat backbone, light citrus. My only criticism would be that since this beer was brewed with mandarin oranges, I would have liked to taste those oranges coming through more than they did. As it stood, I got about as much citrus as I normally would in a witbier that wasn't brewed with any oranges. (936 characters)
