I'm about halfway through my second case of this beer this year. Really really liking it. Easily my favorite offering of this season.
Poured into my go to pint glass. It's a dark copper ruby color, but it's very clear. Lacing can be good if your glass is perfectly clean (which mine was not tonight).
Smells amazing. nice roasted malts, biscuit in there, caramel as well.
Taste is more of the same, with a bit of a grassy hop presence at the very end to sort of send you on you way.
Medium mouthfeel, cause you definitely want this one hanging around.
Overall I would say this is probably the barometer for an american brown. Terrific malt backbone, and just a kiss of hops in there to differentiate it from it's english counterpart. Will definitely be getting more of this before the season is over. Aside from the hemisphere beers that SN does, this is right up there with my favorites.

Sampled tonight on 6/26/14. Found this bottle in the back of the cooler so it is a good year old I am guess BUT there isn't a expiration date anyone on the bottle and this brew is now RETIRED and no longer brewed. But opened it and it was fine. Bottle chilled down to 36 degrees F in my beer cooler and poured into a 14 ounce glass 'Texas style " boot.
Pours a clear dark brown in color with a good 3-finger off-white head! Good carbonation with some sediment left in the bottom of the bottle. The aroma is of roasted malts, hazel nut and brown sugar. Very nice! The taste is close to the aroma but not as strong BUT pretty good overall with all the flavors mentioned above coming through lots of the hazelnut 'nut' flavor in the mix. A slight dry smoke finish but still good.
