2011 Sierra Nevada brown bottle poured into a SN 'hop imperial tumbler' tulip style pint glass that just came in the mail.
A - Look was good. chestnut in color. Nice chunky white looking head once poured. Good creamy lace as well.
S - Some molasses with some faint spices. It was just an average smelling brew IMO. Seemed to be missing something, but still decent.
T - Nicely balanced with a somewhat roasted flavor. Some nuts and sweet molasses. Nice malty flavor through and through. I wanted more of these great flavors though...
M - It was a smooth brew to drink that was easy to down. Alc % was about right for this style of brew. Clean tasting ingredients like most Sierra Nevada brews I've experienced.
O - I used to LOVE Brown ales. With experiencing other styles this has pushed the brown a bit further back on my list. However, I'm talking English Browns.. This is an American Brown and when it comes to ABA, I havent much experience. This is a good tasting brew, but IMO needs to have a little more of the killer flavors it has. More flavor and it'd have been an A+ brew to me.
