A- Pours dark brown with an off-white/beige head. The beer leaves decent lacing on the glass. Lighter brown edges/highlights when held up to the light.
S- Toasted malts, toffee, caramel. Not much else going on, but smells ok.
T- Toasted malts, caramel, and some herb-like hoppiness. Smokiness appears. A little spice lingers in the mouth...as does hints of chocolate. Well balanced with the malts and bitterness.
M- Medium bodied. Carbonation feels sharp in the mouth.
D- Easy to drink, but nothing particularly special.
Overall, not a bad brown ale. A good beer to drink while watching football, but not the best brown ale in the world. A decent beer for the fall season.

Sampled tonight on 6/26/14. Found this bottle in the back of the cooler so it is a good year old I am guess BUT there isn't a expiration date anyone on the bottle and this brew is now RETIRED and no longer brewed. But opened it and it was fine. Bottle chilled down to 36 degrees F in my beer cooler and poured into a 14 ounce glass 'Texas style " boot.
Pours a clear dark brown in color with a good 3-finger off-white head! Good carbonation with some sediment left in the bottom of the bottle. The aroma is of roasted malts, hazel nut and brown sugar. Very nice! The taste is close to the aroma but not as strong BUT pretty good overall with all the flavors mentioned above coming through lots of the hazelnut 'nut' flavor in the mix. A slight dry smoke finish but still good.
