Apperance: Pours dark with two fingers of frothy tan head that dissipates rather quickly. Only a little lacing sticks to the glass.
Smell: Brown sugar, yeasty, alcohol, bananas. Enticing aroma that reminds of of dogfish head's indian brown ale and then some.
Taste: Kind of weak/bland to begin with. Cream, brown sugar, hint of roasty malts, slight bite of hop bitterness. As the beer warms not much more flavor comes through but the feel does improve.
Feel: Medium to medium light bodied. Easy drinking but I think the body is just a tad bit too light, not allowing all the flavors to sink in. Carbonation sticks and tingles the tongue but doesnt bring through a great deal of flavor. Mouthfeel gets creamier and thicker as the beer warms which is nice.
Overall: Easy drinking but not a whole lot of flavor. Weakness is disappointing as the aroma was very nice but not a lot of flavor coming through in this beer. Not bad but not great. Just not a lot of flavor or complexity coming through at all. There are a lot of better browns out there.

Sampled tonight on 6/26/14. Found this bottle in the back of the cooler so it is a good year old I am guess BUT there isn't a expiration date anyone on the bottle and this brew is now RETIRED and no longer brewed. But opened it and it was fine. Bottle chilled down to 36 degrees F in my beer cooler and poured into a 14 ounce glass 'Texas style " boot.
Pours a clear dark brown in color with a good 3-finger off-white head! Good carbonation with some sediment left in the bottom of the bottle. The aroma is of roasted malts, hazel nut and brown sugar. Very nice! The taste is close to the aroma but not as strong BUT pretty good overall with all the flavors mentioned above coming through lots of the hazelnut 'nut' flavor in the mix. A slight dry smoke finish but still good.
