Served on tap at Cork in Chas, SC into a pint glass.
A: Pours a one finger off-white head that quickly disipates to a ring. No lacing to speak of. Dark brown with beautiful copper hues. I really good looking brown ale
S: Sweet and roasted alts with a slight hint of sweet apricot lingers.
T: Malts and more malts. Just like the nose, primarily sweet with roasted coming in second. Not much hops going on, but they are there. (Suprised at the tameness on the hops coming from Sierra.) Interesting milk-chocolatelike finish; a flavor I have never picked up in a brown ale. Interesting in a good way.
M: Medium body with low to moderate carbonation.
O: This is a really good brown to which I plan on returning. Really could be more than a seasonal.
Serving type: on-tap

Sampled tonight on 6/26/14. Found this bottle in the back of the cooler so it is a good year old I am guess BUT there isn't a expiration date anyone on the bottle and this brew is now RETIRED and no longer brewed. But opened it and it was fine. Bottle chilled down to 36 degrees F in my beer cooler and poured into a 14 ounce glass 'Texas style " boot.
Pours a clear dark brown in color with a good 3-finger off-white head! Good carbonation with some sediment left in the bottom of the bottle. The aroma is of roasted malts, hazel nut and brown sugar. Very nice! The taste is close to the aroma but not as strong BUT pretty good overall with all the flavors mentioned above coming through lots of the hazelnut 'nut' flavor in the mix. A slight dry smoke finish but still good.
