Clear autumn color, garnet, brown, and and orange with a tinged 2 finger head with some nice lacing. Very toasty and roasty nose with coffee, espresso and faint chocolate note. Slightly burnt smelt almost like dead leaves in a good way.
Medium sized body feeling very full on the tip of the tongue and rolling into a smooth sip as it travels through the mouth. Burnt roasted malt flavor up front, a nuttiness on the mid-palate with a clean earthy hop snap on the finish. Faint chocolate and coffee linger in the mouth. Really embodies fall in a brown ale. Perfect for a fall day really.
Some soapy and off flavors on the finish from time to time on certain bottles i've noticed such as a soapiness or too much noticeable alcohol, could be quality of the brewing process diminishing since I remember it being much better last year, but still a very good fall beer.
