From the bomber into a mini-snifter.

Typical beauty from SN appearance-wise, with a thick, blanket-like, cream-colored head a finger and a half thick. It takes its sweet time in receding. Lace is abundant and forms a bubbly, sticky layer over the body. As for the body, it's a beautiful dark amber color with a nice glow to it, plus perfect clarity and slight trickling carbonation. 4.5

As is common with SN beers (for me at least) there's a pungent sweet floral aroma that first reachers the nose. Piney, resinous hops trail behind. As usual, I like the aroma here, but it's not as colorful or broad in aromas as other big time IPAs. 4

This is incredibly resinous, earthy, and pungent, especially about mid-palate when the flavor seems, feels and tastes to me like I'm drinking an IPA with whole hop cones floating in it. Now that I'm able to at least slightly articulate what the hops are like, I'm able to recognize a toasty malt flavor with a tinge of caramel. 4

Lot of different sensations my tongue is feeling: spice from the hops, an oil-like quality weaving through, followed by an intense, super intense, bitterness. This beer is bitter And it lingers with some dryness that really are hard to ignore. 4

This beer is not for the faint of heart. It's not for those tasting their first IPA. All the hop heads that complain about a beer not being bitter enough should give this a spin. It's sure to satisfy. 4

22 oz beer was poured into a pint glass.

Appearance: A frothy two finer head was poured that reduced to a puffy layer. It is a copper color with great clarity and vision of bubbles coming up through the glass. Frothy lacing down the glass as the beer was drank.

Smell: Grassy, citrus, grapefruit, spicy, earthy, biscuity, toasted, bready, caramel, and pale malts.

Taste: The hop flavor is blended well together with the Chico malted barley. Very balance, delicious, and tasty

Mouthfeel: Smooth, crisp, light to medium bodied, refreshing, light bitterness, little chewy, and low to medium carbonation.

Overall: Nice hop flavor and bitterness with balance from the estate grown malts. This beer is pretty solid and I look forward to enjoying it every October.

A-clear dark copper in color with great lacing and retention, sticking the sides of my glass. S-some earthy pine with floral notes. T- grapefruit brightness followed by a nice sweet malt that's not overbearing. O-Hop taste is crystal clear and malts balance off in the finish. Quite balanced and very delicious. I'm biased towards organic beers but this one makes me question my opinion. I will most definitely be buying another bottle.

Fresh 750ml bottle into an IPA glass. With all the malt and honey flavors in this, if I were tasting it blind I'd probably guess it was a super-hoppy brown ale. The hops are earthy, with some tropical and floral notes for good measure, and in pretty much perfect balance with the malts. If you come in expecting a West Coast IPA, you may be disappointed, but this is a damn fine beer nonetheless.
