Just got this off the shelves at Fairway market in the upper east sie to celebrate completing yet another residency interview.
Seemed an interesting label of the never-failing sierra nevada brand. Why not.
Pour is an amber but very translucent tone with a scant head that looks tan but otherwise fades quickly.
Smell wise it is probably its best trait, Very floral and rather trending twards the sweet side which seemed a nice little change from the more ominous, aggressive style of the american IPA.
however taste and so in seem to fall back on track with the genre as it becomes almost instantly overwhelming to feel the rush of the hop past a very discrete malty curtain. Dont get me wrong, i like the bitersweet contrast but this time it hit me somewhat by surprise since it's been a few days since my last so bitter IPA and as it seems you lose tolerance and the palate resents somewhat.
Overall however a fine beer, pleasant to taste colder than warmer, and hopoy flavorful for hop worthy moments.
