A: The pour reveals a beautifully transparent rusty, amber color that yields a solid three fingers of foamy white head that likes to stick around and to the sides of the glass.
S: Hop character in the nose is actually quite subdued, but smells incredibly fresh and tasty. Little citrus notes in the very background, but mostly a bready aroma with the sweet and thick hop profile of cascade or centennial hops. Regardless, it smells great.
T: Malty introduction, the pale malt coming through very strong with a bready character. Midway through, the fresh hop presence strikes, with the bittering being slightly pronounced, but not egregiously. The finish is a smooth fade of these hops, leaving some oil on the back of the mouth in the aftertaste.
M: Well-carbonated and medium-bodied mouthfeel, creamy and almost chewy, with the aforementioned hop oil resonating, but not in a bad way.
D: A very drinkable offering in my opinion. The only thing is, I was a bit thrown off by the balance of this beer. Actually, it exhibits a rather nice malt/hop compromise, I was just not sure what to expect from the hop profile. Still, it was tasty, and I appreciate the painstaking effort that goes into wet hop ales.
