Poured from a 24 oz bottle into a 20 oz beer mug.
A - Dark and very hazy amber with a slighty off-white head that goes down to about half an inch and just lingers forever. It doesn't even look like a healthy head, but it sticks around for a while. Leaves lots of sticky lacing.
S - A very mild, but very uninspiring aroma. Citrus and grapefruit are apparent with some slight pineapple sweetness and some toasted malt.
T - It seems the hops have diminished a bit; probably should have consumed this one sooner. Even so, I actually do like how the hop character has mellowed, coinciding with a lingering but still pretty mild hop bitterness. The malt is nice and rounded, adding good sweetness and balance of flavor. It's very uncharacteristic for a west coast IPA. It actually got a tad sweeter as I poured the last bit into my mug, which came with some of the sediment at the bottom. Very surprising. Also noticed a slight grassy undertone as I drank.
M - The body is slightly full and weighty, and the carbonation is mild.
D - One of the most drinkable IPA's I've had yet. The ABV is slightly high but the flavor is good and the bitterness is never strong enough to be a deal breaker.
Overall - It would seem this beer is good whether consumed fresh or aged a bit, only getting a little different as time goes by. I look forward to future iterations of this beer.
