24oz bottle 2008 release poured into a Harpoon Winter Warmer snifter
A - Pours a clear orange-amber color with two full fingers of pillowy foam. Foam clings to the side of the glass after settling.
S - Honestly, underwhelming. I pick up a bit of citrus hops, but it is not very pronounced... have the hops faded since bottling? Most likely, as I'm drinking the 2008 release in May 09
T - piney bitterness that lingers on the palate. Definately not a hop bomb, but there is a good amount of piney flavor with a substantial sweetness behind it.
M - hops numb and tingle my entire mouth, carbonation is just right.
D - Pretty well balanced, goes down easily.
I'll be this was much better fresh - I'd rather drink a Torpedo IPA. Not that it was bad, I'd just prefer a more pronounced hop flavor.
