Sierra Nevada (Northern Hemisphere) Harvest Wet Hop Ale is earthy, woody, sweet, and bitter.
It poured light copper (near-amber) with a huge tan head. It left moderate amounts of lace. The smell and flavor were earthy, with lots of pine and wood. The woody (and woodsy) flavor was very rich and lasting. There also was an undertone of caramel sweetness that balanced the earthiness. The feel was extremely aggressive, with a good amount of bitterness that had a lot of staying power.
Harvest Wet Hop Ale is another impressive hoppy ale from Sierra Nevada (SN). At times it's difficult to distinguish one from the other; however SN excels at this style and this offering is both solid and accessible.
