from a 22 oz bomber-
pours a nice light amber color into a tall 0.5L glass stein. a nice, bright 2 finger head rises to the top and hangs around. sticky lacing is evident throughout enjoyment.
this is the first time i've had this harvest ale, so i've not smelled hops in this manner before (outside of hop flowers on a vine). nice and fresh hop aroma... grassy with some piney smells blending nicely with the florals. i'd like to sniff is some more, but the tastebuds await....
wow! can still taste some malt backbone - a slight caramel, amidst the grassy, citrusy, and a bit of pine. the hoppiness isn't super bitter, which caught me off guard. it just tastes so fresh and easy to drink. the hops are there all around the mouth, throughout the sips and gulps. but they're not super-overpowered. slightly dry on the end, but only to beckon you back for more. i like.
a nice carbonated ale, with a medium mouthfeel. you can be left a bit 'sticky' on the lips.
this is an easy drinker. if you like hops, then this should be right up your alley. if you're not infected with the craving, then you might not like it quite so much....
be nice to find this on tap. oh well, i'll just have to settle for a case or so's worth...
