I was really surprised to find bottles of this beer at my local East Boston Kappy's, just more proof that popularity of good beer is still on the rise.
24oz brown bottle. Tarnish copper penny color, good clarity and the lacing is out of this world. Smells of green hops cut right off of the vine, a little vegetable and woody. Mild fruity esters and toasted grain in the nose as well. So damn smooth and creamy, a perfect level of carbonation in this solid medium bodied brew. Big fresh cut grass and oily hop character to start, bitterness is there but not harsh at all. Maltiness is bready with undertones of crust and caramel. Faint fruitiness from the alcohol and hops, finishes a little bitter with a broad flavor of fresh hop oil.
I'll be heading back to the store to get a few more bottles as this easily cured my hop fix. I look forward to this beer every year for at least the past few years.
